Thomas S. Ruby

I have experience in desktop, database, web, embedded software and electronic design.

  • 1991 to 1995 Legal Files Software.

For Legal Files Software, I constructed a huge case management system used by law offices all over the country. This system ran on DOS computers, both desktop and laptop and stored its database on Netware servers. Users had information on their entire case load at their fingertips both in the office and away from the office. This system included document management and document generation features. For distributed law offices, copies of the database were kept up-to-date at each office automatically by background "update processors" that also dealt with data updated on laptop computers away from the office.

  • 1990 to 1991 Computer Masters International.

Computer Masters International was a startup computer and software service company specializing in custom software and system repair. I was often called on to look at and repair odd computer systems I had never seen before.

  • 1988 & 1989 Kanoski & Associates.

Ron Kanoski had a law office in 3 cities and the idea that computers could help his employees work smarter. I helped him construct a distributed case management system that later grew into Legal Files Software.
